The trouble is the distance between what you imagine yourself to be doing , and what you actually are doing.
If you're going to go through the trouble of making magic book right, then make magic book right. Half assing that is pointless. Or, and I know this is just a radical idea..you could simply stop worshiping a book and pretending that it was magic? Sav that devotion and expense for a god, instead.
The people who wrote it possessed no insight into the origins of man, to be blunt..they didn't even remember who they were or where they came from...which is understandable given the circumstances they found themselves in at the time of it's compilation. They nevertheless possessed great insight into the human condition..because they were human beings, lol. The voice speaking to you in that book is a human voice, not a divine one. Not all of it has aged well, but again this is to be expected because we do not find ourselves in the same world the narrators found themselves. None of magic books problems are a god's problems except in your own insistence of them as such.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
