You're having a ridiculous heated argument with a figment of your imagination again. You don't know your own party. You idiotically think that any attack on the New Democrats is a defense of the Republicans and Wonald Weagan. You need to learn the factions within the party that you think that you belong to. Read the rest of the article, because I know that you only scanned part of it near the beginning.
The New Democrats are also a faction that represents billionaires. Those billionaires pay the New Democrats so well that Hillary thought that she basically owned the party.
Holy fucking crap do you not understand.
Billionaires pay off both parties?
NO WAY! "I'm Wolf Blitzer In The Situation Room, our top story tonight, NO SHIT!"
Now go back and re read my prior posts until you get it.
Our politicians are HOSTAGES, not perps.
I don't give a fuck what party someone votes for, but our politicians are ONLY AS GOOD AS THE SUPPORT THEY GET. So the only thing dems can be accused of as not giving our politicians enough support.
Democrats as VOTERS GAVE UP under Reagan, that in turn forced our politicians to compete by the GOP narrative.
.
Actually, many members of the Democratic base gave up before Reagan. You keep having this problem where you think that the Democrats are the good guys, so you have to blame the Republicans for the failings of the Democratic Party. If you knew what the hell you were talking about, you would know that an awful lot of the Democratic base became disenfranchised after McGovern's defeat in 1972. McGovern was arguably to the left of Bernie Sanders. When McGovern lost, the party blamed McGovern's socialist politics. The 'neo liberals' took over the party, and became The New Democrats. That left a huge number of people disenfranchised with the party, but with nowhere else to go.
Despite what you think, the left isn't 'waking up'. We've been here all along. The New Democrats are finally losing their strength, and we intend to burn their freaking houses down (figuratively speaking, of course).
Here is an article that contrasts the Republican's response to Goldwater's defeat, with the Democratic response to McGovern's defeat. The Republicans got it right, and they swept in an age of Goldwater. The Democrats turned against their own fundamental principles and pretty much helped the Republicans create the Goldwater Age. It is an excellent article that was written in 2016 during the time that Sanders was challenging Clinton.
