Recommend me a US city

Well, i want to come over to the US of A next summer, it'll likely be for a max of 7 nights, but more likely nights.

I like:

Drinking
Eating
Partying
History (big thing)
Nice people

sell me a city.

First of all, there are MANY cities in this country that kick-ass. I've been everywhere and there are pros and cons to everything.
First things first. It has to be a major metropolis. No problem there - we have lots. 2ndly, factor out eating and drinking. You're not going to have to worry about finding excellent food and lots of boos in a major metropolis.

I have partied in all these cities and they are all kick ass for one reason or another.

Las Vegas: Sin city! Greatest party town in the world! Drawbacks: If you're taking your wife, skip it. Also, hotter than holy fuck in the middle of the summer
Washington DC: History. Everywhere you turn there's history. It's quite amazing.
New York: Amazing food and lots of drugs! NY City wore me the fuck out daily.
San Francisco: Site seeing galore and some really nice hippies out there.
New Orleans: Everything is awesome but during the summer it's a muggy bog. Also lots of obscure history.
Chicago: Fun town with lots to do. Lots of history and comfortable in the summer. Also right next to the largest fresh water lakes in the world and of course the Museum of Science & Industry is something to see. Awesome pizza pies and for my money a win win.

Out of all the places I recommend tourists to see - I always end up recommending Chicago. I'm not saying those other cities don't kick ass ... they do! I just think Chicago is the best bang for the buck during the middle of the summer.
