"Atheist" is a general term meaning "off", but that is all we have in common. Outside that we do not agree on politics or economics or religion 100% of the time.
Liberals are no different. In general we agree in protecting pluralism and worker stability. But that does not mean we all agree on how to get to those goals.

Atheist (or ism) has two definitions dependent on whether the root word is taken as atheos or theos. Therefore it’s either:
- belief (not god) or
- (belief not) god.
Liberal stems from liber (free) but some will read that as ‘freedom from’ and others sway towards ‘freedom to’.
Either way the various propaganda machines can spin positives and negatives...
Freedom from oppression
Freedom to express
Free to choose
Free to plunder
Free from laws.
Etc...
The British liberal is closer to the US libertarian so again...
