Westboro Baptist  church members were refused visa to enter Oz. This was to protect them; if they tried any of their shit here enraged mourners would  give the bastards the horse whipping so long deferred.

Australia has no  Bill Of Rights and free speech is not guaranteed in our constitution.

WE don't have the KKK in Oz.  I do seem to remember there was one once. I think somebody shot him. Really?  No, not really, I can't back that up.

Well, free speech IS an American right, so my point still stands.

However, you bring up an interesting point; matters of physical violence is where free speech, and especially hate speech (which is protected under free speech), gets blurry. You cannot directly call for violence against someone because it is against the law.

But so long as they're not directly calling for someone to be harmed, I say let the WBC do their thing. I don't think any person with half a brain takes them seriously and many Christians detest the Westboro types.

If anything, letting these people speak their nonsense out in the open just exposes them. If you want to be hated by 90% of Americans, have fun. No skin off my back.
