We have a better understanding of the old Hebrew language than when the scriptures were first translated into English, the Hebrew doesn't translate well into nearly all languages. So no double standard, atheist are the ones who pick and choose their own standards to fit the occasion even if it has to change within that occasion to suit their need. Deuteronomy 21:18-21

What was that? A mere guideline?

 Did you really believe I did not know about that verse. Go back and read what FB posted and then the verses and see where the errors are, think you could possibly accomplish this task. Then go and read up on the culture of the time and see if the verses make sense as per the culture. This shouldn't take you over a couple of weeks and you want have to disagree with what I would tell you, you will know the reason.
