I get that you were trying to be funny. I too say the wrong thing to the wrong audience sometimes. All I can say is that you offended someone whom we trust enough to have put in charge of these sorts of things. He thought you needed cooling off. I'm all white, so I can't determine whether it was offensive or not, because I'm not in a position to be offended. He'll unpause you, I'm sure, once the powers that be determine it's been enough time.

It's quite clearly not for the one and only fact that his reaction had nothing to do with your race.

It's a casual chat room. It doesn't now nor will it ever have the same level of admin as the forum does. We don't have time for that. It's just a sandbox.

He's not the sole admin of slack, to my knowledge. Moreover, he doesn't have time to spell it out for anyone. It's not just you. He's extraordinarily busy right now. The only reason I have time to respond is because I can play on the forum while I work. Basically, slack is a casual, fly by the seat of your pants chat room. People get booted when they're being assholes as determined by whoever thinks they're being an asshole. You mentioned Hammy. Tibs banned Hammy because Hammy called me a cunt, and it's Tibs' call if he wants to boot people from slack, so he did. I actually disagreed with him, but it's subjective.
For what it's worth, I completely believe your intention was not to offend. I think the best course of action is to accept that, while your intention was meant to make light, someone WAS offended, and needs a minute to cool off.
