Shawn is a natural observer sherlock homes type mix with lazy underachiever,which was far too lazy and undisciplined to go to cop school, but has a gift so great that he can observe and often time solve crime by his powers of observation and deduction, but rather than do things legit he pretends to be a psychic and gives hints and had fits to push the cops to the next clue.

It's a smart comedy alot of puns and play on words.
