And yet, as the passages in the op show, the god of the bible does lie and deceive. Christians will find every reason why that's okay or that isn't so. Just like when the bible says god hardened Pharaoh's heart, that doesn't mean god hardened Pharaoh's heart, even though every word in the bible is absolutely true, infallible, and inerrant.
