Humans are far more fragile than we'd like to think. Evolution itself is tough sure. But this bullshit idea that our planet cares about humans, or that humans have to always think about ourselves as heros and super human, is just that.
In reality, which is hardly sexy, humans are just as fragile as any other life in our evolutionary history.
When you defend climbing Mount Everest, I am not talking about never doing it. I am talking about CONTEXT and pragmatism.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you always should.
I can get the first climbers being explorers. I can get the first scientists doing the same.
But Mount Everest isn't that. It has unfortunately been turned into a Indiana Jones prop for individuals whom have nothing better to do than to stroke their own egos.
