Bank of America recently cut ties with them because of the conditions. The government often uses private contractors for things like that. It's why we have for-profit prisons (which often cost more than public prisons, and have worse conditions and wore recidivism rates). And Caliburn is not the only example. Other such facilities charge similar rates. Oh and guess who's on Caliburn's board of directors? Trump's former Chief of Staff, John Kelly. Oh and guess who helped push Trump's Zero Tolerance policy? John Kelly.
Ok... So it is fair to criticize the SOLUTION - but the problem?
Not really.
And I wouldn't expect the politicians to come up with anything that addresses the problem. They' 'll just keep sticking bandaids on sucking chest woulds, the media will have something to cry about, and the problem will continue unabated.....
This is a phenomenally easy fix. Trump created this phony crisis with the stroke of a pen, he could end it that same way. In the meantime, another good idea would be for these facilities to stop refusing private donations.
And the little girl who drowned at the border along with her father? Your fault.
