Oh, I'm not disputing the numbers (in case that was directed at me). My little bit of google-fu was simply to show if you adjust for inflation Ray-Gun's performance comes out even worse (and probably worse again if you ever managed to get a proper measurement of purchasing power parity, inflation is a very imprecise measure).

You can cite the if ands and buts of this situation until you're blue in the face. What are you going to do about it? I, for one, will be going out and voting against Trump, almost no matter who is running for the other side. Sort of like how the Repubs did to us in 2016.

Not my fight, lad. I'm Irish, where democratic elections are a given.

But it is a point that needs be brought up again and again and again and again and again. The US doesn't hold democratic elections, mainly because like it's exemplar the SPQR it is an oligarchical republic.
