Exceptions can be made for people who need guns, like farmers or those living in areas where dangerous animals are common but there should be strict controls in place.

There are those of us who enjoy the challenge of shooting marksmanship. I have a .22 caliber rifle that I use to shoot paper targets. That is all I've ever "killed" with it. I go to a shooting range that has diligent range safety officers, so that the people who do stupid shit on the firing line are immediately chastised or ejected. Now, you know of one normal, sane person with a gun.
