I'm operating under the premise that the footage actually exists, until official word is that pertinent surveillance data is mysteriously "unavailable".

Bolding mine. If it comes to that, the US is closer to a banana republic than I originally thought. We'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Why would this be surprising? This is honestly what I expect in cases like this. When police were issued bodycams to assure the populace that police brutality would be recorded and perpetrators would be held accountable, my immediate assumption is they'd somehow try to doctor footage, just release the parts that made their actions look justifiable, delete offending footage, or just not turning them on.

The only silent parties are high powered men at risk of Epstein outing them for a deal for a slightly nicer prison stay. Pretty much everyone else is outraged. When political opposites like AOC and AG Barr are outspoken and in agreement, we should pay attention.

I'm not going to affirm or reject this assumption until I can actually find any hard evidence that he was or was not going to rat on other perverts.
