More guns always make things better? No. If you're open carrying you're telling a criminal where to get a gun that can't be traced to him.
It is not a matter of the quantity of guns unless we can get rid of all of them. It is a matter of how and who is using them. Less guns will not make us safer unless you can guarantee me that criminals cannot get a gun if I cannot get a gun. I never said anything about open carry.
Do you think it is possible to stop someone from getting a gun in the United States who wants one? I don't think that is possible. I don't believe unarming moral lawful people makes us safer.
