Subjectively, yes. I am pro-capital punishment in certain circumstances. Prison, jail, rehab, and counseling are other alternatives for lesser evils. If they are part of the problem and asking for help, good, let us help them. If they just like being part of the problem or are for some reason incapable of not being part of the problem, that lessens the status in my mind of their value to society and as a person.
Look at the condition Stephen Hawking is in and yet he is able to (albeit subjectively) contribute to society.
