I had an experience with a Taxi company recently. I was going from the hotel to the airport, and I knew the ride would be about $10. Someone else from the hotel wanted to ride with, and I told him I'd cover the fare. Upon arriving at the airport, I was told that it would be $10 PER PERSON and that we were not allowed to split the fare, so to speak. Doesn't this go against the very concept of sharing a cab with someone? Confused and a little angry, I told the driver that no one from the cab company told me that they charged per rider, and that I didn't even feel I had to pay the extra ten bucks.
Mind you, the cab company required me to book the cab THE DAY BEFORE to reserve a ride to the airport.
So, all in all, my experience with this company was costly, inconvenient and unnecessarily difficult.
Now, with Uber, set up an account, and the hassle is over. You notify that you want a ride, and a driver shows up within a reasonable amount of time. Easy. It's honestly a wonder that cab companies are even still in business.

If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
