Where are you referring in the bible “according to the bible people could barely leave their homes without encountering a sign or messenger from god”? The Bible writings span four thousand years of human history with relatively few interactions with God.
Back to the question. What would convince you of the existence of God? What could he do to “prove” his existence to you?
Correction: four thousand years of accumulated myth.
During which time this being supposedly:
- Flooded the world
- Drowned a pharaoh’s army
- All but destroyed Egypt
- Talked directly through a burning bush (which I hope wasn’t a euphemism for an STD)
- Had various angels and messengers perform all kinds of crazy crap.
But today he can’t even be bothered lifting a celestial finger.
What would convince me? Likely nothing less than a personal appearance with verifiable and testable “miracles”.
