No way enough Republicans are going to cross the aisle. Republicans know this man is corrupt. However they also know that he is the only way he can advance their agenda. It is sad this is just how American Politics work now. No one really has any dignity.
.
If the CIA gave their report about how Trump knew about the Kashoggi murder before it happened can put his republican supporters in the senate under the hammer and the sickle:

Quote:The CIA was the source of the threat warning, according to an overseas intelligence official, Baghdadi and others involved with the briefings. A CIA spokesperson declined to comment, but the agency has a legal “duty to warn” potential victims of specific threats including murder, kidnapping and serious bodily harm, according to a 2015 directive signed by the Director of National Intelligence. After Khashoggi was killed, the CIA faced criticism for failing to warn him after reportedly learning that the Crown Prince, known as MBS, had issued an earlier order to capture the journalist, who wrote opinion columns for the Washington Post. The CIA later assessed with “medium-to-high confidence” that the Crown Prince ordered his death.

Maybe insignificant isn't the right word, but there are other things that worry me more than whether or not Trump is impeached. I'm more worried about the infrastructure of the party that he climbed to power with and the influence he's had on that party. How he's made them lose all sense of shame. About how he's allowed white nationalist talking points to enter mainstream political discourse. About how their political base takes delight in governing by spite. I worry about the damage he's done to the US on an international level. And even if Trump has a massive heart attack and dies tomorrow, these problems will still be there. Trump is bad, no question there, but there's a problem that goes deeper than him.
Trump is a historical character but not in a good way. But in his reign; America literally lost most of its presence and power in the international scene; China and Russia took its place.
