It doesn't strike you as face-palm worthy that people would demand apologies for actions their own ancestors committed?

Nope. All of christainity is predicated on the sins of adam and eve inherited down through the ages.

The history has been distorted and edited to present an exclusive 'us & them' view hiding the fact their own ancestors were the ones committing the wrongs as well as being on the receiving end. That is how human history works.

That is how religion works and has always worked.

As humans they all fecked each others brains out every opportunity they got and thus all of us with Irish ancestry count every single individual involved amongst our ancestors, oppressed and oppressor.

I don't have to appeal to some mythical ancestral Irish blood. I am Irish. I have lived here all my life. I have watched it all happen in front of my eyes.

And as such you also have British ancestry whether you choose to acknowledge that or not.
Perhaps the fact that I know I have mixed ancestry forces me to confront the fact that I have ancestors on both sides of a vast number of conflicts across history whilst others have been able to pretend that that doesn't apply to them, but whatever.
