Their replacements were. This was also the case with white indentured servants. The natives were hard to work and whites cost more. Those are the economics of slavery and genocide, respectively, that made it a good business decision to capture black people and kill red people. The one is not a defense of the other, they're both examples of the same thing.
Transportation deflates our natural resistance to being enslaved, and removes the burden of oppression from the end user. It's hard to hold someone down on their own turf, it's alot easier when you ship them thousands of miles away from anything they know or recognize, with 12-25% dying en-route. Their culture and heritage destroyed as surely as their lives and familial bonds would be, replaced with the abusers.
That's one of the main reasons that ACS efforts in Liberia failed. The many many millions of the descendants of the initial breeding stock were no more african than you or I.
I'm sure that I'll enjoy whatever complaint you make next, in your capacity as the boards endless fountain of bad takes, and while you stir around the contents of your skull to come up with something suitably ignorant and on brand, the rest of us can take a gander at a great example of how this affects people in Stand Watie. He was a chief, plantation owner, and slaveholder who had been instrumental in getting the natives evicted from georgia, signing treaties that the majority opposed, leading to the trail of tears. He settled in oklahoma and attained the rank of general... in the confederate army. He spent most of his time during the war killing other cherokee people. When they lost, he lead a native delegation to sue for peace and the recognition of the tribes, but was ignored and abandoned by both sides of the now unified government which realized that it was more politically expedient to play tribes against each other. It was something that the union and confederacy could agree to with real enthusiam, and so, after the civil war, they turned their combined forces west of the mississippi.
That's what happens to The Good Ones who suffer through their initiation with honor and stoicism, and it's why you should keep the natives out of your filthy mouth.
