You will have the most wonderful loving feeling right along side a sincere desire to never see your child ever again. Watch some Louis C.K. his description of dealing with kids is so spot on and really captures the chaos.
I would say to really look to check your male privilege too. Society has rigged us to disconnect and even if you don't have the conscious thought, "women's work" it is probably hiding just below your awareness. I made an effort to be the most diaper changing, getting up in the middle of the night, letting my wife sleep in daddy that I could be and looking back I STILL see ways I let tasks default to my wife. For example, they often do not have changing tables in mens bathrooms so, sometimes, without checking first I would let he take the baby just to save us a little time by having me scout out the changing station situation. We kept it mostly fair I think due to the fact that I'm an early riser and still get up early with our 7 year old.
Whatever happens congratulations on the most life changing thing a person can do with their life!
Just a little tip.
Use the words 'male privilege' if you don't want the guy to do what you say.
