He simply does not have any understanding of privacy.

They are his former fellow fundie pastors until they defrocked him and chucked him right the hell out. That's right, Jo was too nutty for fundies to stand.
Being barred from the church premises, he took to standing on the street harassing the congregation as they entered/left the church building while toting a knobkerrie. When they sought legal redress, he took to doing the same thing from across the street just fractionally outside the legally mandated exclusion order. The cops sat and watched, just waiting for him to step over that boundary. If he did they would have arrested him, but Jo carefully did not and shouting in the street is not a crime in and of itself.
