My mother was so afraid I would name my oldest something like Rainbow or Moonbeam. Of course she still wasn't happy with the first and middle names I did select (which are pretty common names) because they were too long and wouldn't fit on any form anywhere.
Of course she gave me a name no one can spell or pronounce...go figure.
I really wish I had named one of my daughters Rainbow. That would've been fucking awesome.
I gave all my sons traditionally girl names. Mostly because I wanted girls.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.
