See, what really grinds me here is that you're plainly attempting to convince yourself that the only reason that I do not believe is that I do not understand, or have not taken the time to investigate your fairy tale. There simply cannot be any other reason, to you. Whether or not I have is irrelevant, because you need this to be true regardless. It's pathetic. You are not only incapable of giving me any reasons to doubt my own interpretation, you are incapable of giving me any reasons to doubt the dissenting interpretations of your fellow christians, or indeed the interpretations of the divine by members of any other faith. Their lie exposes your own, and vice versa.
What I think is that you look for evidence to support your position, and listen to people who agree with that position. I'm sure you've done a lot of investigating, but you've never actually done what Jesus said to do to find out the truth. Strange, isn't it? That you'd spend all of this time finding things to convince yourself that you are right, but refuse to do the one thing that could prove it.
I'll tell you why you won't do it. Because of who you belong to, and he knows that as soon as you bend your knees and humble yourself enough to ask God for the truth, its over. As soon as you open that door he can never shut it again. So that rebellious part of you that he owns will absolutely refuse to yield on this point.
If you were honestly interested in the truth you would find it. All you're really interested in is confirming what you want to be true.
