Seattle Chief of Police resigns Due Budget Cuts

...by taking that workload off of the police.......just kindof jumps right out, doesn't it?  When you need an emt, there is no reason for an armed law enforcement officer to be there.  Again, our leaning on them so much, in this way, contributes to the outcomes we're hoping to avoid.  

We don't -have- to send cops to save a child who's choking on his popsicle, there are better people for that job, and cops have things to do which would be a better use of their time, their training, and our tax dollars.

I see, they should ignore the "child choking" calls. Many better things they could be doing.
