Everyone wants to point at the US and scream about gun violence..
Look it up. The US comes in WAAAYY behind some other countries (per capita).
But they don't want to talk about Mexico or Brazil....
Just the US....
"Oh but those are THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES"
.....
So for some reason they don't count.....
Because we fancy ourselves a developed nation, and yet we still fall far behind them. I don’t ignore those third-world coutries, and in fact, In terms of gun violence, we’re on par with them. I flat-out stated this When I brought up how we compare with other nations. The difference is, unlike you (or, indeed, a lot of others on your side of the gun control debate), I think we should at least try to do better. And I don’t think we can do that without changing how we do things. Why not focus on those other countries? Well, I live in America, which I think is enough of a reason for me to focus on it, as opposed to Brazil.
The reason you should look at Brazil is the same you should look at Australia....
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_cont...20officers.
Australia never really had a firearn problem - they outlawed guns and the crime rate stayed statistically about the same.
Brazil outlawed gun ownership - the gun problem subsided for a while - then went up and got worse than before.
What's it prove?
Notta fucking thing.
Don't expect what somebody else tries to work wonders for you.
...
Here in the US - it is pretty consistsnt -
The areas with the most gun problems have the most gun laws....
