Christ our immortal savior, the mechanism is God's omniscience and omnipotence. The biology we have is insufficient, the change did come with the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Why would God leave traces of the old, no these bodies will die, Christ will resurrect those who accept who He is and we will enjoy eternity with Him. The evidence is coming, just be patient and you will see it, you will believe at that time if you do not before.
So, to keep it short, G-C the answer is "no." You can't point to any specific evidence and merely spout off a load of pious bullshit and think we won't notice.
