It is equally as much a shared experience, as a sex worker is fucking someone, while they masturbate watching that recording of the sex worker on a porn site. That the recording is solo or with a partner doesn't make much of a difference, this mentality is still in effect parasocial. Nothing wrong with wank material, on the surface of it (I have problems with how it is produced in the "professional" industry, but that's a story for another time), just don't create illusions about it, and they'd be fine.
