Taxation can determine minimum income laws and where the poverty line is.
It is foolish to complain that the rich are not taxed enough, which controls how rich or less rich they will be, while denying that the poor's income is decided by the same laws and tax code do the same thing. Right?
If not, what is different, other than the amount of wealth to each group?

Firstly, and completely out of my @rse, I'm going to make a 'Prediction' an uneducated guess as it were.
I am gojng to say that Greatest I Am's heritage is of the American persuasion. Happy to be set strait on this.
Now what brings me to post is Greatest's ideas about what taxation 'Is'.
The way they are posting about it. Taxation would seem (Again, correct me if I'm wrong) to be 'The Government' taking... Perhaps the word theft might even insinuated..... a person's hard earned money and or wealth. Government taking from 'The poor' to do.... things. I'll stop short of the whole Robin of Loxley trope.
I'll leave it there for Greatest to clear up any of the stupid I've potentially posted.

I have no problem with taxation. It is the percentages and distributio9n I have a problem with.
Not as much in Canada, although we are not perfect, but my American friends are sure getting screwed.
I do have some American traits. I cannot help that given the proximity and American friends I have had.
I like the older style. This newer style show some troubling traits that I hope you recover from.
