There were about 56,000 unmarried mothers and 57,000 children in the mother-and-baby homes and county homes investigated by the commission.
That is a crazy number. "Out of sight, out of mind". Unwed mothers were an embarrassment to their families.
I wonder how many people died in Mother Theresa's homes that could've been saved by basic medical care?
The Catholic Church as an institution doesn't do a very good job of taking care of people -- including pre-natal care in U.S. hospitals.
