If they were they would have been looking to dipose President Trump.
To date - like it or not -Trump is President. To overthrow the government you would have to overthrow him.
They were trying to prevent transfer of power to a new government.
Big difference. One is sedition. One is not.
Both are however - illegal - and subject to penalty..
