Noah and animals

In the story of Noah and the giant ark, why did Noah take the animals with him inside the ark?
Was Noah worshiping animals?

one so they would not be destroyed by the coming flood. two as food for other animals, and animal sacrifice.

Let's do some math here...if you have two animals so that they can breed later and make more animals...hence why we still have those animals...and you feed them to other animals or sacrifice them then they can't make baby animals.
