The Proud Boys are not one group as far as I know. Gavin has not been the leader for a long time. I'm pretty sure each branch has their own leader, so it's wrong to just call them all terrorists, just like it's wrong to call all of Antifa terrorists. How many Canadians invaded the Capitol?
Leaving aside whether the Proud Boys deserve this...
Are there any groups, or loosely-assembled associations, which ought to have their merchandise banned?
Active neo-Nazis? ISIS? NAMBLA? The Crips and Bloods, or their current equivalent? The Justin Bieber Fan Club?
I agree with you that there are civil rights issues. I just don't know if there's a line that we have to draw.
Well, maybe if you are sending money to ISIS members, I could see an issue with that, but the rest are fine. Neo-Nazis, KKK, Nambla, the Crips and the Bloods. All fine. You can buy all of those in the US, right? I kind of identify more with America because of their first amendment, and the singers, actors and athletes I grew up with and like are from there. I never cared for hockey or Tim Hortons.
