The only buzz kill that I just noticed, is just like most pro and college sports, I looked in the background behind her and a gigantic corporate ad dwarfed her.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. SERIOUSLY CORPORATE AMERICA, IS THERE NOT ANY EVENT YOU WONT LEAVE ALONE?
Hey Allstate. FUCK YOU, you don't own the Navy!
I just fast forwarded through a few videos of the event and I didn't see the All State logo much. They mostly zoomed in on the speaker below the sign so the All State logo was out of the view of the camera.
Personally, I don't really mind the ads in sports, but I can respect and understand why others wouldn't like them because there are a million of them. When I found out NBA uniforms were going to have ads on them, I was entirely against the idea, but the ads are just a small patch on the jersey, and I got used to it in the first year and I'm cool with the ads. I'm sure they will include even more ads on the jerseys in due time though. The NBA tried to make sleeved jerseys a thing, and people thought the sleeves were going to be used for ad space, and players like Lebron ended up revolting against the sleeved jerseys, so now we only see the classic sleeveless jerseys used. There are a ton of ads on the court too, but I don't focus on them and they don't really bother me. I'm happy for the players because more ads equals more money for them on contracts. As long as the NBA doesn't turn into soccer where you just have a huge company logo on the jersey and that's about it, I don't think the ads are going to bother me too much.
