Not the point. I do not think it is an accident that Alstate had a say in their logo being viewed in that event. 

Even outside this event, I really am tired of giant corporations tramp stamping every sporting event college or pro.

San Francisco's 49rs Stadium was originally  named "Candlestick Park" not " FUCK YOU I GOT MINE CORPORATE GREED STADIUM"

I can remember when the original Washingtion NFL team's stadium was named after Robert F Kennedy, but when they moved to Landover Maryland it became FEDEX FIELD.

I think you are seriously underestimating the lagistics as to why Alstate was viewed in that commencement. I really would like to believe it was happenstance. But no. Sorry, corporate greed is like an octopus.

And since you don't seem to be aware of it...the military academies are colleges. You get a degree and a commission when you graduate.

How, I am 54, I can remember  40 years ago, that college and even pro sports stadiums were named after historical figures, and not giant corporations. I can remember when there were no corporate ads under the ice in the NHL.  

I get private business supporting college and even High School sports, that has always happened. But it has become so fucking intrusive that sports has become more about greed, than the acutal sport itself, especially college and highschool sports. 

I am actually to the point in my life, that I would actually wrather watch a local cable broadcast HS football game, because it doesn't treat the fucking game as a corporate ad or X box video game with graphics I never grew up with.

Did the soldiers of D-day advertise "This invasion of Normady brought to you by Aalstate". NO.

My son's high school football team had banners all over paid for by businesses. The scoreboard was put up by a sponsor in return for advertising space.

Yea, sure they do, and that is the point.

It gets fucking annoying when those ads are not on the sidelines or scoreboards but on the actual field of play. 

Just today, for the first time I can remember in MLB history, I saw corporate ads painted on baseball green. WHAT THE FUCK? I've watched pro sport highlights not even being an MLB fan for centuries. Why the fuck do the Yankees or Cubs or Red Socks or any MLB team need to tramp stamp the actual feild of play in the green with a corporate tatoo. They already get the tangential billboards in the stands, and the corporate mentions in the radio/tv ads.  Please fucking tell me when the game matters?

I wouldn't watch your son's sporting event, or college or pro, if all I was constantly looking at for 2 hours was an ad for  corporation. 

If your son was playing a sport outside corporate greed, I most certainly would watch, for the game. But increasiningly even with the sports I don't that  like Corporate greed is fucking pissing me off.

I thought about pointing out to him that without corporate sponsorship, ALL entertainment - not just sport - would bring to a screeching halt. But I didn’t want to risk hearing about Australia, his best friend in Oklahoma, ABBA, his cat, his dead mum, The Ramones, the NRA, Fred Dryer, etc ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
