It is clear that Francis & Friends wants that form of worship to disappear, the sooner, the better. But, hey, it's all make-believe anyway, and so, you Traditional Catholics, why not go into "schism" and elect your own Pope?? It's happened before and Catholic theology, being a constant work-in-progress for the last 1500+ years, some theologian somewhere can make it all at least sound "believable." Getting your own Pope will mean, finally, separating your bank accounts from theirs, once and for all.
Traditionally (meaning with a very few exceptions), Catholics don’t schism. The seeming liberality of Francis is an outlier, and - at 84 - he’s not long for this world. For all their screeching, traditionally-minded Catholics are perfectly happy to wait for the next pontiff to put things right.
