I don't mean to strip the story of it's tragic element, but at the end of the day, the story of remington is the story of a company driven into the dirt by ludicrous management and ownership decisions. They went broke selling guns in the us. The stockholders were defrauded in the process.
Pretty much. You can't run an ad campaign based on your products urban lethality and then claim that you weren't marketing a product designed for mass shootings. Or that this was some unfortunate, but unforeseeable use...of the product you designed and marketed for exactly that purpose.
(by the by, the parents did try a failure to warn case, but rem shot that down by showing that they very much did tell people how many people that product could kill..and quick. Remington was being run by a clown car that had swallowed a pirate ship full of bilge rat pricks - neverending self owns)
