He didn't want comedians deplatformed, so kudos to him for that, and he clearly didn't want comedy to die out like people today do, but a lot of his comedy was super political, so it's not too surprising that he felt that way, and he's only one man so his opinion only counts for so much. It looks like he was talking about more hateful comedy. When he was talking about white male rage, I don't think he would have included Dave Chappelle as a part of that. Dave's Jew joke was a good one, and while people are calling him anti-Semetic for it, the joke was simply standing up for Palestinians.
And in that clip, Carlin talks about comedians going after people abusing their power. Many trans people abuse their status as trans, to try to shame platforms into censoring those that disagree with them, and many of them even want laws to legally hold people accountable for saying the types of things Dave said. This is authoritarianism, and comedians should certainly be punching at authoritarians.
