Back in my days there, something like what you're doing would be likely punished in some way, potentially up to being DFed, even if only temporarily.
If your Elders know and condone what you're doing, then there have been some MASSIVE changes in JW policy in the last couple decades. Are they finally bending, afraid that their numbers will plummet?
