Black trans unemployment rate: 26%. General black unemployment rate? 7.9%
According to the survey 50% of trans made money through criminal activity.
I don't know what percentage of the overall black population make money through criminal means, but it damn sure ain't 50%. Maybe criminality correlates with unemployability? Whodathunk....

Yet 1 in 3 homeless have a mental illness and there is a high rate of homelessness in the black trans community...
So, how much of it is because of mental illness? I only ask because study after study has shown that, given gender-affirming care, mental illness tends to go down dramatically in trans folk. Maybe they're mentally ill because their gender isn't being validated? Have you considered that?
Quote:Given that $40k is still significantly lower than the $60,624 that was the median household income for Americans that year, and, indeed, is slightly lower than the median household income for black Americans that year ($41,239), this isn't much of a rebuttal.(October 25, 2021 at 3:01 pm)Rev. Indeed, this is more than twice as high as the rate for trans folk in general (15%)
As mentioned before, 50% of the black trans in this survey were making money though criminal activity, which i'm sure is not being counted as legitimate "income".
Looking at the overall numbers, it appears that the majority of trans make $40k or above, which leads me to believe that this is a racial issue, and not a trans issue.
