Why do I get the feeling that you didn't find any reason to object to the way these studies defined household when you were first attempting to dissect it? Because, according to INvestopedia: "Household income, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, includes the gross cash income of all people ages 15 years or older occupying the same housing unit, regardless of how they are related, if at all. A single person occupying a dwelling alone also is considered a household." So, yes, Jez, the definition of household income does, in fact, include single incomes.
