What's the arguments against Dave? He's not allowed to freely express his opinions?

The argument against Dave overall is that he made a standup special that's filled with statements against trans people (a minority of people that has to keep putting up with a lot of oppression, including bills that specifically target them for doing something as simple as using their preferred restroom) that are not only offensive, they're often just plain incorrect*.

Here's the thing. Dave has made jokes about Jews, he also made Asian jokes, both of which, you could make a case for having a history of oppression. So are you saying that trans people are a special group than no one can joke about or criticize?

Loudoun County ‘boy in a skirt’ found GUILTY of girls’ bathroom sex assault as school boards’ actions trigger walkouts

The 'gender-fluid' student who assaulted a teen in the girls' bathroom at a Virginia high school has been found guilty of the assault. Parents, whom the school told there was no incident, are demanding apologies from the district.

Juvenile Court judge Pamela Brooks on Monday found the "boy in a skirt" – whose name has not been released as he is under 18 – guilty of forcible sodomy and forcible fellatio in relation to the assault on a teenage girl at Stone Bridge High School in May. He will be back in court for sentencing in November.

And, because of this, many believe Netflix should remove it. He may have the right to express his opinions, but that doesn't mean a particular platform has to put up with them. You want more specifics, Jessie Gender has a good overview, and even does a good job of putting his bullshit into perspective.

Not only did the platform put up with Dave's opinion, they supported it. What do you mean by "many"? We redefining another word? The reviews of Dave's special are overwhelmingly positive, damn near 100%.




If his employer supports him, and the majority of people support him, yet you still want him silenced, were not really talking about freedom of speech anymore are we?

* The claim that trans folk are somehow analogous to blackface strikes me as a particularly blatant example. Hey, gang, why is blackface considered offensive? If you answer "because it's been so thoroughly linked with portrayals of black people that mock and dehumanise them that it's more or less irredeemable," you'd be correct. If someone assigned male at birth becomes transgender, well, they're not doing it to mock women. They're not part of a tradition that dehumanise women. Frankly, they are women. And even if you don't co-sign with that view, they still believe themselves in their heart of hearts to be women. The closest comparison possible between the two concepts would be a hypothetical version of Black Like Me where John Howard Griffin takes his six-week experiment of living as a black person in the Jim Crow South to understand racism firsthand and, instead of just stopping his Methoxsalen intake and retreating to a motel room for several days, he decided to keep living as a black person for the rest of his life,  with an extra helping of scorn because he was born white and became black.

Dave wasn't saying that trans folk were analogous to black folk, he said the way TERF women feel about trans is similar to how a black person would feel about blackface.
Imagine being a female athlete training your whole life as a female, when a former male athlete who trained his whole life as a male, then transitions as an adult, and starts smashing all the previous records set by biological females while everybody else pretends to not know whats going on.

Don't think biological women have a right to feel some type of way?
