I've never had cherry pie.
It's just about cherry season here. Always too expensive to consider using them for cooking. Perhaps this year.
The Xmas hams are out and frozen Turkeys should be available soon. Prawn (shrimp) cocktails are a family tradition. Frozen green prawn meat is currently $32 kg. Over $40 at the supermarket.
Trivia: Friends on Salt Spring Island BC had a pie cherry tree. I was so impressed. That was in 1985. I've still never heard of such a tree here.
