In any case, instead of pretending like you’re just curious, why don’t you tell us what how how you actually feel about this individual?
For the record, in practice, queerness tends to refer to a broader spectrum of gender oddities than just homosexuality. So, the Professor’s odd gender identity, not liking to use Mr. or Mrs., is likely something their students will likely pick up on.
And the OED seems to have amended their definition of “queerness” to reflect that:
