Except this person explicitly states they don't want thier gender referenced. So why in this context, would children asking about your 'gender queerness',🙄 be the favorite part of your job?

What he not getting is Queer can mean Non-Binary so the kids could be asking the Prof about that.

Okay so now I need to make a #thread about the difference between identity and sexuality, because either the vast majority of these humans are not that smart, or folks really just don’t understand. I’m choosing to act inside my values and trust the best intentions. Please allow me to preface by saying I am speaking for myself. I cannot and do not speak for the experiences of other people across genders, races, sexualities, abilities or any other category my lived experience may overlap with. When I said my students ask about my queerness, I means my literal, objective queerness. The word queer meaning unfamiliar, peculiar, strange even. Especially strange to children who are predominantly being shaped by a boy/girl binary. They will always have questions. I would never speak with a child about anything sex-related without the prior consent and appointment of my school, my scholars’ parents, and the scholars themselves. y’all disgust me with your attempts to collapse perversion onto queerness as if that conversation is new. please. The questions I referred to are from 6 year olds. It’s not as deep as many of you have processed this. Questions are about my haircut, the clothes I wear, how I have a wife etc. I’m different than many of them have ever seen, especially so after a virtual kindergarten year. Those questions speak to what make me different than the way they were socialized to perceive me. It doesn’t mean that I am having conversations about sex in my classroom. Don’t be egregiously absurd. Queerness as a gender identity has nothing to do with who I sleep with or what body parts I have, nor would I ever discuss such a thing with children. It is your own internalized perversion that you’re upset with, not me. My school, students and their parents know me and my wife and they support me as an educator. My students love me dearly and I work hard daily to continue sustaining a healthy relationship with them in return.
