I won't deny that. But I don't place nearly as much value on rationality as an atheist would. Facts are trifling things. Give me someone who will let me dream.

That, in a short space, explains a lot about why our country is in the bad place it is.

People want to have pleasant fantasies instead of dealing with unpleasant realities.

The problem is that facts don't go away simply because you ignore them. And eventually, you have to wake up from the dream.

Maybe everything is so fucked that you might as well dream anyway? Yeah that's the correct answer.
