I'm not convinced that that particular part actually matters. In his mind, he hears people referring to the killing as an execution, and he assumes that this must be the protesters exaggerating. The fact that the people calling it an execution aren't actually protesters just doesn't seem to matter. And judging by what I've seen of his debating, he will defend his position for as long as is feasible without looking like a total idiot and when it turns out he can't defend it anymore, he'll deny any claim that he held the position that he's been explicitly arguing throughout the thread.
