i think that it's a juvenile rebuttal on the christian's behalf. to be honest, i wouldn't take anyone seriously that offered that poorly thought out argument to me because they're stupid enough to not be able to recognize that it makes their faith look weak.
people are creatures of habit and tradition and i don't blame many people for sticking to a faith that they've grown up with. it's unfortunate, but eh. when someone comes in to their lives and jeopardizes what they've known all of their lives to be true, they act out childishly and retort with anything that they can conjure up. shrug
