What you qouted in no way describes the big bang. It explicitly says that the Earth and the space it exists in are two completely separate things, fully divided from each other.
I wonder what the religious authorities in your country would say to you and you making such a nonsense of islam? They're as afraid as you are of the truth getting out.
No. The verse did say that "heaven and earth were a joined entity".
Here's the verse in Arabic:
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Translating word by word without using a translator:
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا
Didn't the non-believers see
أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ
That the heavens and earth
كَانَتَا رَتْقًا
Were one joined entity >>( the Arabic word used to represent the joined entity in this verse is "رتق" "Ratq", the meaning of the word can be validated from this Arabic-Arabic dictionary:
https://www.almaany.com/ar/dict/ar-ar/%D...%AA%D9%82/
فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ
we cracked them >> (the Arabic word literally means cracking something; more like "break, pop, bang"
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ
And we made from water everything alive
ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
So wouldn't they believe?
